Online Marketing, 140 Characters at a Time

Twitter started out as a micro-blog to answer the questions “What are you doing now?” It has evolved into a popular social movement and an amazing marketing tool that all real estate agents need to embrace.

I get a question every day asking me “Why Twitter?” All real estate professionals should be actively working their Twitter accounts several reasons. First, it is a great way to bring yourself online. If you do not do much marketing online, Twitter is a great way to get started. It is simple, and only requires that you come up with something to say that is only 140 characters long. Second, it works remarkably well to promote your website and/or blog in the search engines. With cross-linking and hash tags added to your Tweets, you can exponentially increase your exposure within the search engines, as you are tapping into the high-ranks of other articles and links. If you link from your Twitter account, to your blog, and your blog to your website, you can drive leads to ultimately utilize your services. And lastly it can help you establish yourself as an expert. The more followers you have that see your consistent Tweets about the market, your niche area, or anything else that you want to brand yourself as an expert in, your exposure in that area will help you to become that authority.

Twitter is free and is exploding onto the internet as a key business marketing avenue. Don’t get left behind. Simply go to www.twitter.com for your free account today.
